Feeling guilty and annoyed at the same time. Cried off Aikido tonight even though I wanted to go because I know I'll overdo it. The cold I was feeling the edges of at the beginning of the week is making itself felt and given that I have to be up even earlier than usual tomorrow and spending a lot of the day travelling I could really do with an early night.

I still feel guilty though, even moreso because ridiculous as it sounds I want to train for the grading I'm dreading and I'm annoyed that I'm missing classes that would bring it inevitably closer.

So the sore throat and slightly croaky voice at the beginning of the week mutated into the splitting, sick headache that comes and goes over 2 days and wakes you up at 2.30am - that's gozen niji han des if I've learned my japanese properly - and now we've progressed to the alternately stuffed up then streaming nose. The overtiredness has been pretty constant, but I'm fairly sure that's just being exacerbated by the cold as opposed to being caused by it. Why is it whenever I get some time off I promptly seem to go down with something? I so need a complete holiday of at least a week.

I should really do some stuff for tomorrow as well and load up the borrowed mp3 player. Maybe I'll do some of the Aikido basic exercises, just so I can feel I've done something physical-ish.

Speaking of which, despite my concentration being abysmal in Aikido at the moment, we did a 2 on 1 with the private student on Tuesday, just evasion work. I did worse than he did, it was sooooo crap :-( But then we did evasion work with a technique, so you were not only evading your attackers but countering them as well - still 2 onto 1. Ha! I floored them both repeatedly, obviously my brain works better when it has plans of its own instead of just avoiding others - I redeemed myself, so I had that to hang onto instead of being depressed about the crap state of my Aikido at the moment.
