For no particular reason... some recs.

A book - Count Zero by William Gibson
Why: because it's sci-fi and voodoo and it's really interesting the way the two mesh.

A song - When I Go by Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer
Why: because it's sort of folk with lyrics that lean toward the mythic and the imagery is really good. And I might have to use one of the lines as a fic title at some point.

A fic - Long Dark Night by Mistress Arion
Why: because I've never really gone for book-based fanfic, but this manages to capture the characters really well while twisting them in a direction I'm pretty sure their creator never intended, no mean feat given that the characters in question are Sam Vimes and Havelock Vetinari.

A film - Ravenous starring Guy Pearce and Robert Carlysle
Why: because it's twisted and slashy and freaky and really well done and I don't normally have any interest in, nevermind like, this genre.

A food - Strawberries with black pepper
Why: because it's weird and yet it works really well, I have no idea why.

A drink - Green tea with orange and passion fruit
Why: why else, it tastes really nice - except Liptons don't sell it over here, the bastards, I've only ever found it in Canada and much as I like the place, a trip over just to get some tea will have to wait till I've won the lottery.

And lastly a place - Horseshoe Lake in the Canadian Rockies
Why: because I found it by accident and it was so quiet and serene and I took a picture and surprised myself when it came out beautifully.
