30 days of fanfic
Jul. 31st, 2011 11:15 am20 – Do you ever get bunnied from other people's stories or art in the same fandom?
Hmm, it's rare and I can't point to anything in particular, but I'm sure it's happened. It might have been a vid. Oh wait, no, it was a Stargate fic. It wasn't very well written, there were assorted grammatical and spelling mistakes, though I suspect the author wasn't a native English speaker, but the idea was a good one. I wrote a sequel, but was never able to track the author down to ask, so it's never been posted and probably never will. It wasn't on any archives, just the author's own site, which disappeared. Periodically I look for it again, but I've never found it.
Far more recently and successfully, there was
edzel2's Endgame which kind of grabbed me and wouldn't let go. And she very kindly let me link my fic to hers.
So in short, it does happen, but not very often.
