So, started re-watching Babylon 5 - from the beginning. Hey, the TV was crap over Christmas, it's cold and we're snowed in - why not?

Up to late Season 2 now and I'd forgotten how good it was - well I knew intellectually, but that's not quite the same thing. It's also funny how many lines I remember even though I haven't watched it in literally years.

It also puts RTD's *cough* efforts into perspective. Straczynski had some really awesome plots, but I think what shines through best is the characters and their relationships - they all develop as the series progresses and they're multi-faceted and *real*. Ivanova relates differently to Franklin than to Garibaldi who has a different relationship with Sheridan. And as for the whole G'Kar and Londo thing or the Londo and Vir thing... really excellent. Tragic, but excellent.

So, Sheridan's just found out about the fate of the Icarus, Zach has joined the Ministry of Peace's new initiative, I believe Lyta is about to return and G'Kar is shortly due to give his speech about the need to be free...

Why did all the spin-off series get cancelled? *sigh*
